Get out of town!  As you approach the intersection (this is Washington and Philo, but there are a few more on your way out of town), wait your turn if there are cars in front, and move towards the middle of your lane so that drivers know you're proceeding straight ahead.  When it's your turn, proceed!

You might see these guys along the way.  They're behind a fence and not too energetic.Experienced riders have succeeded in avoidign problems by:

1.  Shouting "No!"
2. Riding fast!
3. Squirting water at the dog's face from your water bottle.
4. If necessary (again, *very* unlikely) get off the bike keeping it between you and the dog.
In the unlikely event that a dog intimidates you, animal control can be reached at 333-8911.  The animal control folks tell us often that the dog doesn't have to bite you to merit a call - chasing is enough.

These fellas are a little further along Washington Road (more than halfway there!). Here's a good reason to pull off and take a break.
