At one point, St. Mary's Road had a "no bicycles or joggers" sign - faded and hard to read - from the other direction. I couldn't find it; I did find this one. Some of the other "No Parking" signs were just a *tad* faded, but there are newer ones, too.
While it would seem bikes and joggers are now allowed, it *is* a narrow road with lousy visibility. If I were a driver, I wouldn't want to come up behind me in a car if I wanted to actually get where I was going; passing would be stinky. Students have been known to drive fast here.
What will happen to this road when things get developed? Can we dream that cyclists will be consciously included in the planning so that those professors talking to reporters could still say "you can get anywhere by bicycle?"
