Where I post assorted thoughts and links relating to learning, specifically learning difficulties, learning disabilities, dyslexia, dysgraphia, "dyscalculia" and all the other reasons people struggle with numbers and math and arithmetic, reading, Orton-Gillingham stuff and ... whatever!

The Read and Write Gold saga, continued...

... so, I have been completely unsuccessful at finding the misplaced file with ideas for training :(
I checked out the voice recognition - it's the standard Microsoft package. Happily, if you click "speak" during the training, it will speak what you're supposed to say.
However - and it's a huge however - when it came time to dictate, it wasn't in Microsoft Word but in an .rtf window... and I couldn't get the text that I'd read in to be read back to me. Therefore, I couldn't correct the inaccuracies. It wasn't that accurate for me, though there was a little more noise than usual in the room and that may have offset my usually exce3llent results (helps to have a spot of choral training and to be a phonics teacher when it comes to that gentle enunciation factor).
So, at this point, I'll be thinking "Dragon" for the voice rec. aspect of the "technology" module.
