Where I post assorted thoughts and links relating to learning, specifically learning difficulties, learning disabilities, dyslexia, dysgraphia, "dyscalculia" and all the other reasons people struggle with numbers and math and arithmetic, reading, Orton-Gillingham stuff and ... whatever!

quadratic formula songs

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H_7lNT9oDzI

This does not have a particularly catchy tune but the accents are in the right places and it includes what the thing looks like. ... and there's a version I'm looking for that has an ever so slightly better choice of words IMO -- "ALL over 2a" instead of "divided by 2a" because hwile the former does assume knowledge that "over" means divide, the "all" is a reminder of the grouped stuff on top.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m0h5r5h-Ems -- this one showed up a few times in the search... but because of the novelty aspect of lego people killing each other, as opposed to musical or educational merit.

This is unforgettable and makes me yearn to hear that special version of Kumbaya that Mary Cliff played on her last day doing Traditions at WETA. Aside from saying "radical" instead of "square root," it would work well ... even has emphatic knocks before "all over 2a."

(there was yet another one that got too lost in monologue and a story...)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Jb7T4zpPU5E doesn't make the cut because one of 'em doesnt' even include the 2a part. However, for memorable excruciation, it makes it.

HERE IT IS ... sort of. The creator of this one just played Pop Goes the Weasel and had bouncing whatevers over the text. You never hear- except in your head - the words. However, that could be a good thing if it means you create it yourself.

http://tr.youtube.com/watch?v=jZL9wqUT9_8 The second best one, with the teacher singing it...

here's the shortest and sweetest, 25 seconds long: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J9ejDXJMp-4

I have to stop now.
