Where I post assorted thoughts and links relating to learning, specifically learning difficulties, learning disabilities, dyslexia, dysgraphia, "dyscalculia" and all the other reasons people struggle with numbers and math and arithmetic, reading, Orton-Gillingham stuff and ... whatever!

It *is* just me but

... I am just not a visual learner ;)

Found "lure of the labyrinth" because I decided to check my "google reader" to see the blogs I subscribed to. It's supposed to be a game that has students doing mathematical thinking but, OF COURSE, in just amazing and novel ways.

It reminds me just a bit of the times tables online game... which I couldn't succeed with at all. Rather almost all of what happens seems to involve reading comics (no thinking necessary), and then clicking random things to send your little avatar around and being amused at the comments. Most things are completely non instructional... and when I got to a point where it looked like numbers might be involved, there was no clue as to what to do. I did the usual random click thing and the monsters grunted at me... gosh, I can really see how a student would ... um... I don't know.

I'd love to be enlightened.
