New Blog at Landmark

http://www.landmarkschool.org/resources
Okay, okay, when I"m sitting in on the math 099 class I *do* sneak in some surfing. (Happily, when the teacher walked by, I had the calculator simulator on display... I *am* payin' attention, honest... )
I was desperately brainstorming (that's the other thing I use "dead cognitive air time" when the excellent teacher is, yea verily, providing that "engage time" for students to think and process) How To Structure Learning Voice Recognition 'cause i have two students I think could really benefit from it, but not exactly for the reasons one might think.
They don't need the "office professional" structure, though I'm not sure that isn't a good idea.
I remembered, out of the blue, that somewhere, somebody had talked about having students read text and then compare the computer output to the text in front of them.
Yippee - that's a way to develop reading accuracy and attention to the details of language and...
... and what else am I forgetting? And what *are* other people doing?
... so I thought I would cruise the web for LD schools, to see what was online and, perhaps, to actually send an email and ask if there seemed a non-obnoxious way to do that.
And there was this blog, just started this month! I fully distracted self and chimed in on the discussion of executive function and study skills.
And then class ended... back in the lab
