Where I post assorted thoughts and links relating to learning, specifically learning difficulties, learning disabilities, dyslexia, dysgraphia, "dyscalculia" and all the other reasons people struggle with numbers and math and arithmetic, reading, Orton-Gillingham stuff and ... whatever!

We're off! I hope...

.... So, we have gotten the okay to pilot Read and Write Gold. The first class will be coming down tomorrow... I ********hope******** that, indeed, the tech folks will have things ready. (I am also following Murphy's Law and Having An Alternative. You *can* highlight - but not collect - with Microsoft Word.)
Got article to scan and have ready, since only one 'puter is hooked to the scanner. Lesson one: Geometry lesson in figuring out angle if the article was copied crookedly, which it was. I was reasonably successful, but accuracy isn't as good as straight-from-the-book. SO, I'm going through and correcting... it took about 20 minutes.
It's an article from Newsweek ... bloggus interruptus...
... which is, most happily, online for all the world to see. Scanning may have been, actually, unnecessary. I know they can highlight just as they would in Word.
