Where I post assorted thoughts and links relating to learning, specifically learning difficulties, learning disabilities, dyslexia, dysgraphia, "dyscalculia" and all the other reasons people struggle with numbers and math and arithmetic, reading, Orton-Gillingham stuff and ... whatever!

At a recent meeting we were informed one of those little things that we were pretty sure was true, but was confirmed with data.

Students who take our assessment as juniors, and then take it again as seniors, don't tend to do any better after another year of high school. (I'd say "instruction" but I don't think the term applies... "education" certainly doesn't.)

Why bother?

It *does* give me something to say when people ask "why do they arrive underprepared?" I can at least say that they aren't getting more prepared in high school, for whatever reasons.
