I have started reading _Teaching Math Meaningfully._
the first thing I like about it is that it doesn't dictate "here's the way to teach math." It starts out with four principles of bringing together principles of special education and mathematics instruction, including teaching big ideas about mathematics... and big ideas about *doing* mathematics. (I haven't gotten to what those are yet ;) )
Another thing I appreciate, even while getting on wading boots for it, is that it keeps repeating those four principles with the same graphic with just about every otehr page, to keep connecting back to that idea. Since this is a pretty big oh, dare I say the phrase, paradigm shift I think the repetition is the better part of valor.
