Absolute value for girls and boys.

Okay, that's a gross over-generalization, but it's based on a pattern: Women are more likely to want things broken into steps; males are more likely to want to see the big picture, and to want to see a picture.

Absolute value is a great example of a concept which can be conceptualized in completely different ways. It can make a huge difference - as in, do you get it or don't you - to have it presented in your "native language."

So. Next little thingy on the website will be the visual and the algebraic angles.
The text we use covers visual and verbal and algebraic and graphic - it's when a tutor knows which angle to emphasize and use as the reference point that can enable a student to answer all of them :)

(Now the truly compelling question: Front Page, which is on the 'puter at work and home, or Dreamweaver, which I still have to re-install at home but is superior... I shall let the day decide.)
