Welp, I've added a new article to the website because the fraction thing needs to be out there. Had a textbook lesson in the importance of learning styles; telling my student how to do the fractions wasn't getting through, much less sticking. (Big clue: when the student points to the denominators instead of talking when you ask "what do you need to do to add fractions?" he's probably a visual-spatial learner, not a verbal one, eh?)
